Ceramic Planters are made of hand dyed cotton rope sewed on the sewing machine built upon a water-retaining ceramic oxidized black base. They're combined with a cotton tie and completed by a leather label giving the final touch to the creations.

Marie, the ceramist behind ATMA, is all about mixing influences and materials. Her signature indoor planters are made of ceramic and cotton rope, ready to set on a table or hang by a window. Her journey starts in a local studio in China where she lives in 2005. The craftsmanship she discovers on her travels around Asia, from textile to religious objects, are vital inspiration alongside the cultures themselves. Witnessing people make time for what matters most to them – celebrate deities, caring for elders – convinced Marie of the importance of designing products that elevate simple pleasures into special moments. Marie’s early days of Chinese-inspired ceramic making were built upon and enriched in San Francisco where material exploration and self-expression prevail. The birth of ATMA is the story of these strands coming together, forming in a collection that is decorative yet functional; an oasis for the overstimulated senses; a celebration of ethnic design fused with understated simplicity.
